Complementary Medicine

Complementary medicine is different from Alternative Medicine. Complementary Medicine is a combination of therapeutic and diagnostic disciplines. It used together with Traditional medicine. For example, using aromatherapy as a complementary therapy may help minimize a patient's discomfort after the surgery.

Complementary medicine is usually not qualified in Western hospitals or medical schools. Complementary medicine includes a numbers of health care systems and practices. It has not been accepted by Western Traditional medicine for a variety of social, scientific or cultural reasons.

Complementary medicine is used together with Traditional medicine. Alternative Medicine is used instead of conventional medicine. For example, Alternative Medicine is used as a special cancer treatment instead of radiation, chemotherapy or surgery.
